PedR blog

Undaunted by the fact that we all have much more important things to do than hang out in the pedagogic blogosphere all day, I've set up a blog to accompany my PedR project on podcasting and screencasting. I'll post outcomes, thoughts etc. as and when. It's called - excitingly - 'podcasting and screencasting at BSU'.

Now, why didn't I take a job in marketing....?

Obviously I'm now a firm fan/follower of this well-timed piece of marketing, er, 'blogging'...
On the question of students listening only to summaries and not reading, I seem to remember listening to a lecture course on Heidegger by Hubert Dreyfus, in which he speculates that so few students are in the class because the majority are sitting outside in the Californian sunshine (he's at UC Berkeley), listening to last week's lecture on their iPods... A strangely melancholic moment, yet entirely appropriate to the content of the course, I feel.
